Aly Senger (b. 2002) is a painter from Louisville, KY. Senger is an Art History BFA candidate at Northern Kentucky University on track to graduate in May 2025. Their focus is portraiture and still lives meshed with autobiographical symbolism through oil paint, embroidery, graphite, and collage. Their work uses art history as a magnifying glass to investigate themes of complex trauma, queerness, and consumption versus decay. They do this by combining fragments of meaningful family keepsakes with symbolism that evokes personal and collective meaning while reworking techniques overlooked by the art historical canon due to their association with femininity or “craft”. Organic materials like fruit, seeds, hair, and foliage reference themes of mortality embraced by vanitas paintings and Victorian Hairwork. They have shown work in Gallery 104 (KY), KMAC (KY), KORE Gallery (KY), The Carnegie (KY), Northern Kentucky University SOTA Gallery (KY), the Cincinnati Art Club (OH), ADC Fine Art (OH),  the Behringer-Crawford Museum (KY), and Art Sanctuary (KY).
